Early Life and Teaching Career
Matsie Angelina “Angie” Motshekga was born on June 19, 1955, in Soweto. She received her primary education from various schools in Soweto and matriculated from a boarding school in Matatiele.
Minister of police
She pursued higher education at the University of the North, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Later, she obtained a Bachelor of Educational Science degree and a master’s degree from the University of the Witwatersrand.
In 1981, Motshekga began her teaching career at Orlando High School.
She later became a lecturer at the Soweto College of Education and then at the University of the Witwatersrand.
