— -- Monty Brinson, the ex-husband of "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" former star Kim Richards, has died after a long fight with cancer.

He was 58.

Rick Hilton, Richards' brother-in-law, announced the news on Instagram Sunday.

"We have lost Monty Brinson after a brave battle with cancer," he wrote next to a photo. "His heart was as big as the moon and he was loved by all he met.

He will be sorely missed. I love you always!"

On Monday, Paris Hilton, Richards' niece, also shared her condolences by posting a collage of photos with her late uncle.

"Heartbroken to hear the sad news of my Uncle @MontyBrinson's passing after his long brave battle with cancer," she wrote in a caption.
