Carl Chester Clopton, 85, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

He was born January 22, 1939, in Cedar Falls, IA, son of Edwin S.

“Bill” Clopton and Dorothy (Manders) Clopton.

On December 15, 1961, in Cedar Falls, he was united in marriage to Alice I. (Johnson), who survives of the home.

Mr. Clopton served three years in the United States Army and twenty-three years in the National Guard, retiring as Sergeant First Class, E-7.

He was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

He taught junior high and high school industrial arts and auto mechanics for twenty years, retiring from Lynwood USD in Lynwood, CA.

Carl was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, playing cards, and working crosswords and jigsaw puzzles.

He will be remembered as a compassionate and loving man and will be greatly missed.
