6th February 1976 was a pleasant winter day in Karachi. 

Asad Mengal, son of former Chief Minister Balochistan Atta Ullah Mengal, and his friend Ahmed Kurd sat at the home of Baloch politician Balakh Sher Mazari.

They were discussing politics over tea. As they stepped out to leave, shots and sirens suddenly filled the air. The pair were shot and whisked away by law enforcement agencies. They disappeared.
