Born and raised on the island of Kauai, Hawaii, Olena Heu is a journalist, photographer, media personality, television producer/host and former Miss Hawaii (^[1]) who competed at Miss America 2005 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

The daughter to a single-parent mother attended Kilauea Elementary School on Kauai's north shore then Kapaa High School prior to receiving her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Hawaii Pacific University.
